Health & Safety Requirements

ChrisFord Events and Riverslea Mall Markets are committed to providing a safe environment for all stallholders, staff, and visitors.

To ensure everyone's safety, all stallholders must comply with the following requirements:

General Safety

  • Stallholders are responsible for the safety of their own site, equipment, and goods
  • All equipment (tables, gazebos, displays, cords, etc.) must be secure and in good condition
  • Stallholders must ensure their set-up does not create hazards for themselves, other stallholders, or the public

Vehicles & Set-Up

  • Vehicle access is permitted only during designated set-up and pack-down times
  • All vehicles must be removed from the market area before opening to the public
  • Stallholders must follow the instructions of market staff regarding entry, parking, and unloading

Electrical Safety

  • Any electrical equipment must be tested and tagged in compliance with NZ regulations
  • Power leads must be taped down or covered to prevent tripping hazards
  • Power points are limited and must be booked in advance

Fire Safety

  • Food vendors using cooking equipment must have a suitable fire extinguisher or fire blanket on site
  • Gas bottles and BBQs must be in good condition, leak-free, and safely secured

Food Safety (for food stalls)

  • Food vendors must comply with Food Hygiene Regulations 1974 and local council requirements
  • Correct food handling, storage, and temperature controls must be observed at all times

Weather & Outdoor Safety

  • Stallholders must ensure gazebos, umbrellas, and marquees are properly secured with weights or pegs
  • In high winds or unsafe weather, stallholders must follow instructions from market management immediately

Emergencies

  • In the event of an emergency, stallholders must follow instructions from ChrisFord Events staff, Riverslea Mall Management, or emergency services
  • First Aid support will be available on-site. Please report any incidents or injuries immediately

Early Pack-Down

Stallholders must not pack up before the official closing time unless instructed by market staff in an emergency

Important: Early pack-down creates unnecessary risks and disrupts the event.
